REDUCTION TO SINGLE DEGREE OF FREEDOM SYSTEM OF SIMPLE MODELING METHOD FOR LATERAL RESISTANCE OF RETAINING WALL WITH BACKFILL SOIL IN COLLISION WITH BASE-ISOLATED STRUCTURE

In the near future, occurring extreme ground motions exceeding structural design level is predicted. If such are input to a base-isolated building, building may collide retaining wall and damage so counterplans against important issues. Aim analyze behavior of when it collides with wall, we have proposed simple modeling method for lateral resistance backfill soil using line elements. this method, modeled in detail multi degree-of-freedom system, multiple springs dashpots, can represent behaviors close actual phenomenon. However, number elements large, load little heavy. At time preliminary buildings, simpler desired. Therefore, paper, propose reducing dashpots into an equivalent single one spring dashpot.
